The crash took place at 8 a.m. on Monday, just before Exit 58 in Hanover. According to police investigations, Ebling was standing on the left shoulder when a vehicle veered across the hazard markings towards him. In an attempt to avoid the oncoming vehicle, Ebling moved into the passing lane. Tragically, he was hit as the vehicle returned to the left lane.
